Worked Great! First Time! Right Out Of The Box! March 24, 2008 Officer 777 (Maynardville, TN - USA) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I was really impressed with this camera... I raise chickens and had a
marauder stealing hens from the coop. I could never find any evidence of
what the thief was until I installed the Moultrie Game Spy 6.0. The first
night out, in total darkness, it caught the culprit on video... it was a
Bobcat!! I have since installed an electric fence to keep it out.
The Moultrie 6.0 is very easy to setup and use. I highly recommend it. I
have used it several times to video wildlife. Once they're on video, I
can easily connect the 6.0 to my TV and show family and friends what's
out there.
Thanks!!

I receved this camera as a gift at Christmas. I probably would have never bought one for myself. I did, however, have the responsibility of reviewing and purchasing a game camera for a family member 4 years ago. I thought I got the best then but this one killed it (I think it was a cuddleback).
OK where do I start...
My house backs to acres of woods. We have deer, fox, raccoons, skunk, squirrel, owls and assorted birds.
I waited 3 weeks before openning it, maybe feeling intimidated that it would be a pain to set up. It took little time to read the instructions and then I started playing with the camera. I must admit it was so much easier than I thought to set up. So, for ease of setup I would rate it high.
The camera itself is awesome. It takes great day pix and you can take one when it senses and 2 to 3 additional after the initial sensing with time lapse in between. The sensor must be fast because I haven't had the blanks that I had read about when I researched ealier. I had a fox running through that I caught with the camera.
The video is a nice feature too. 15 seconds or 30 seconds. The only catch here is that at night the max is 15 seconds no matter what the setting is set to.
I don't ever use the little viewer. I guess if you are in the field you might want it ... my reccomendation would be carry your laptop with you. It is a little tough to see ... I think. (For me that takes nothing away from this camera)
The pictures are good ... day very clear and vivid. Night black and white (of course) and clear.
The strap that comes with it to go around the tree wasn't big enough for the tree I originally wanted to put it on.
Bottom line. I LOVE this camera!!!
Recommendations: Get the security box and swivel attachment. At minimum so no one takes this great camera.
I have a review for the Moultrie security box which details more of how I mounted the camera.
First trail camera September 15, 2009 Brandt D. Kearly (Middleville, MI) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this item and have been EXTREMELY happy with the product. It is my first trail camera, so I really don't have anything to compare this to except for friends that have other camera's. So far so good. I have captured EXCELLENT daytime photos and very good night photos. I know the one downfall a lot of people talked about when I was initially reading these reviews was the difficulty of getting to the SD memory card. I also experienced this. I purchased(for 99 cents) a pair of flat end tweezers at my local grocery store. PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Very easy to pop the card out and put it back in with the tweezers. I also bought the security box, so I leave the tweezers right in the box with the camera! Works like a charm! I've had mine out for over two weeks now with LOT'S of great pictures and batteries still show 99% life. Enjoy your camera, guys and gals!!!!
Excellent photos, easy to use camera August 4, 2008 T. Moyle 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a fine game camera with excellent battery life, and extremely good IR range and images. The color daytime images are a bit contrasty but this would not be a replacement for my Canon DSLR gear anyway.
