Like other Cuddeback cameras, the Capture IR is designed with what the company calls Centered Subject Technology, which yields more centered photos and fewer noses, fewer tails, and fewer blank images. This is a result of fast trigger speed combined with other proprietary technologies. The camera produces 5-megapixel color images by day and 1.3-megapixel infrared images by night, so that there is no flash to spook the deer. The daytime flash range is 40 feet. The Capture IR's trigger speed is more than twice as fast as those of previous Cuddeback models. The camera features a compact design and weatherproof housing for extra durability.
